Do I have to change my payroll system?

No. The Money Manager Card program works just like direct deposit. If you offer direct deposit to your employees there is no change to your payroll system.

As a result, some of your employees are forced to use check cashing and payday loan establishments in order to receive their wages.

How does an employee order a card?

The employee fills out a form and gives it to your Payroll/HR personnel and the card is ordered through our customized internet portal.

How do wages get on the card?

Processing wages to the Money Manager Card is the same as processing wages to a bank account via direct deposit. We provide you the account and routing information for the card after the card is ordered through our secure internet portal.

Where is the card shipped to?

We prefer the card be shipped to the work location of the employee. Shipping to the employers address is preferred in situations where the mail may be compromised.

Is the Money Manager Card FDIC insured?

Yes. Funds on the Money Manager Card are insured up to $100,000.

What languages do you support?

We support both English and Spanish.

Is the Money Manager Card secure?

Yes. Direct Benefits takes security very seriously. The cards are backed by Visa’s Zero Liability policy The cards are shipped with an activation sticker. Cardholder have to positively identify themselves in order to activate the card. Unactivated cards will be declined at the point of sale or at ATMs.

What happens when an employee leaves?

Once cards have been issued to employees it becomes their property. If an employee leaves they are free to take the card with them and use with another employer.

Can I mandate a card program?

Depends. Payroll regulation concerning payment of wages to employees is governed by state law. Each state has different requirements and rights granted to employees. While most states are silent on the specific issue of payroll cards it is always best to consult your attorney to ascertain what your legal obligations are under the law.

Do you provide training for our staff?

Yes. As a Money Manager Card program client you have a dedicated Account Manager who coordinates the rollout of your program. In some cases we can provide on-site training for your HR and Payroll personnel. We provide education and awareness materials, videos and presentations to make sure your program is a success.
