Get your Tax refund sooner...
Your Money Manager Card can used as a deposit account for your tax refund. If you kept your cardholder package, you may recall it contained a voided check. This check has your Account and Routing information which you can provide to the IRS to deposit your refund. The place to put this information on the 1040 form is line 73 (b), (c) and (d). On 73 (c) check the "checking" box. If you want your refund to go to multiple accounts go to the IRS website link HERE
<<BackHow to buy fuel without getting burned
The best way to purchase fuel with your debit card is to "pre-pay" your purchases by telling the station attendant you wish to "pre-pay" the fuel amount you think you will need. Make sure you have this amount available in your account.
This is the best way to avoid "authorization holds" that get placed on your account if you attempt to "pay at the pump". Authorization holds are put on any debit/credit card when the final purchase amount is unknown. With a fuel purchase there is no way to know how much fuel you will need until you finish fueling up. So to protect against potential overdrafts an authorization hold is placed on your account. The hold can be up to $100.00.
So, the best way to avoid the "authorization hold" is to "pre-pay" your purchase. Gas stations are not the only merchants to put hold on your card - hotels and car rental companies also place holds on your account. Read about which car rental companies do this on the creditcards.com blog - here. Restaurants also put holds on your account to make room for the TIP - so be sure you have enough to cover your mean plus about 20% of the total check.<<Back
Using Allpoint ATMs and being special...
If it is your first time using an Allpoint ATM to get cash keep in mind that you are special. That's right. How special? Well, for people that do not have a Money Manager Card they will be charged a fee for using that ATM. You won't. You might see a message on the ATM screen saying there is a charge for using it.
This message is for people who do not have Money Manager Cards. They will be charged. Not you. We will credit the fee off of your account even before it gets to your account. So you see how special you are.
Why can't we make the message go away altogether? Well, if everyone had a Money Manager Card we could but we are not there yet. <<Back
Using the Bill Pay service
The Money Manager Card offers bill pay as a way to send anyone with a name and address a check. Most folks use the bill pay for rent and some utility expenses. Most mobile phone companies and other merchants accept your Money Manager Card as payment.
Keep in mind that each payment costs $0.50 - about the price of a stamp. If you are paying a lot of bills this way it's not the most economical.
Also if you have trouble remembering when you have paid a bill don't try to "future date" your bill payment. If you spend the money in your account before the date you set the check to be paid your check will not be sent and the bill will not be paid. It is a good practice to pay bills as soon as you can and always remember to check if you will have enough funds available.<<Back
